How to support the tilt exactly as the artist drew it.
A new version, at a different size, of one of exonemo's best known works, Kiss, or Dual Monitors (2017). Two monitors showing the faces of people with their eyes closed overlap, so that the faces appear to be kissing. QAI designed the structure that holds them. The finely judged tilt and the slight overhang at the edges, worked out in the artist's sketches and models, were taken as the things that decide how the piece reads, and the frame was built around them. Structural members were placed so that the edges look as thin as possible, and the frame is left exposed as part of the design. It answers the cabling the artist deliberately left visible behind the monitors, giving the work a mechanical character. Shown at the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2026.
